Advertising Policy

Contractual and ethical standards for ads and sponsored content on Haldia Live.

Last updated: April 2026. This Advertising Policy sets contractual and ethical standards for commercial placements on Haldia Live. For marketing formats and workflow, see our Advertise page; for newsroom independence, see the editorial policy.

Purpose

This policy explains what advertising and sponsored placements we accept, what we reject, how labeling works, how liability is allocated, and how the editorial firewall operates in practice. It supplements—does not replace—our editorial policy.

Acceptance criteria and rejection rights

All commercial creative is subject to pre-publication review. We may refuse or remove ads that are unlawful in India, deceptive, discriminatory, hateful, likely to incite violence, promote illegal products or services, impersonate editorial content, make unsubstantiated health or financial “guaranteed outcome” claims without compliant disclosures, or otherwise create material legal, brand-safety, or reader-trust risk. Acceptance on one flight does not guarantee acceptance on a future flight if standards or laws change.

Labeling, separation, and editorial independence

Sponsored articles, native units, partner microsites, and newsletter sponsorships must be clearly labeled as advertising or “sponsored” in language a reasonable reader understands. Advertisers may not control news assignments, headlines, leads, or story selection. Commercial teams do not instruct journalists on how to cover an advertiser—or its competitors—on the news side.

Creative representations and compliance

The advertiser warrants that it has all rights necessary to provide creative assets and that the creative does not infringe third-party intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights. The advertiser is responsible for compliance with applicable advertising codes, financial promotion rules where relevant, election advertising rules where relevant, consumer protection law, and any sector-specific regulations (for example pharmaceuticals, alcohol, or gambling where restricted).

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, the advertiser agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Haldia Live and its personnel from claims, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising from the advertiser’s creative, landing pages, product claims, or targeting practices—except to the extent caused solely by our gross negligence or willful misconduct as finally determined.

Data, tracking pixels, and measurement

Advertisements may include third-party tags, pixels, or redirects for measurement and retargeting as contractually permitted. Those technologies are governed by the advertiser’s and vendor’s policies as well as applicable law. Our site-side handling of personal data is described in the privacy policy.

Makegoods, under-delivery, and force majeure

If inventory under-delivers due to issues attributable to us, we will discuss makegoods, extensions, or proportional remedies consistent with the insertion order. Events outside reasonable control (major outages, government action, security incidents) may delay delivery; remedies will follow the written contract where one exists.

Payment, cancellation, refunds

Payment milestones, taxes, invoices, and cancellation windows are defined in the proposal or insertion order. General refund principles are described in our refund policy. These advertising rules operate alongside our Terms & Conditions.
