Amit Shah Highlights Modi Government's 12-Year Journey
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the past 12 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been about restoring India's pride, enhancing its global stature, and building a stronger nation.
Speaking on the completion of 12 years of the Modi government, Shah described the period as one marked by decisive leadership, transformative reforms, and a renewed sense of national confidence.
According to the senior BJP leader, the government has worked to position India as a major global player while pursuing inclusive development at home.
‘Restoring India’s Pride’
Shah said one of the defining features of the Modi era has been the effort to restore India's pride and strengthen its identity on the world stage.
He argued that India's growing diplomatic influence, stronger international partnerships, and active participation in global forums have elevated the country's standing among major nations.
The Home Minister also credited Modi's leadership with fostering greater national confidence and self-reliance across various sectors.
Infrastructure and Development in Focus
The BJP leader highlighted large-scale infrastructure development as a major achievement of the government over the past decade.
Projects involving highways, railways, airports, ports, digital connectivity, and urban development have significantly improved connectivity and economic opportunities, Shah said.
He noted that infrastructure expansion has played a crucial role in driving economic growth, employment generation, and regional development.
Welfare Initiatives Reaching Millions
Shah also pointed to the expansion of welfare programmes targeting economically weaker sections of society.
Flagship initiatives related to housing, healthcare, sanitation, cooking gas connections, and direct benefit transfers were cited as examples of the government's efforts to improve the quality of life for millions of citizens.
According to the BJP, technology-driven governance has helped ensure more efficient delivery of welfare benefits.
National Security and Governance Reforms
The Home Minister emphasized the government's focus on national security, border infrastructure, and internal stability.
He said decisive policy measures and security reforms have strengthened India's ability to address emerging challenges while safeguarding national interests.
Shah also highlighted governance reforms aimed at improving transparency, efficiency, and accountability in public administration.
Opposition Continues to Question Government Record
While the BJP has celebrated the completion of 12 years in power, opposition parties have offered a contrasting assessment of the government's performance.
Critics have raised concerns over issues such as unemployment, inflation, social tensions, and economic inequality, arguing that significant challenges remain unresolved.
The BJP, however, maintains that its record on development, welfare, and governance demonstrates sustained progress over the past decade.
Looking Ahead
As the Modi government enters another phase of its tenure, Shah said the focus remains on accelerating economic growth, strengthening infrastructure, enhancing social welfare, and expanding India's influence globally.
Political analysts note that the government's performance over the next few years will play a key role in shaping the long-term legacy of the Modi era.
For the BJP leadership, the completion of 12 years is being projected as a milestone reflecting what it describes as a period of national transformation and renewed global confidence.
