Mumbai: The wait for Bigg Boss 20 is almost over, and Salman Khan has officially begun shooting for the show's much-awaited grand premiere. The actor's first look from the Bigg Boss set has surfaced, giving fans a glimpse of the superstar's trademark style ahead of the new season.
Salman, who has been synonymous with the Hindi version of Bigg Boss for years, is returning as the host for the show's landmark 20th season. According to the latest reports, filming for the premiere began on September 4, just two days before the show's television and streaming launch.
Salman Khan's signature style steals the spotlight
In the first-look visuals from the sets, Salman Khan is seen sporting a black T-shirt paired with a waistcoat, maintaining the understated yet stylish appearance that has become part of his Bigg Boss persona.
The actor's look quickly caught fans' attention on social media, with photographs and videos from the set fuelling excitement ahead of the premiere.
The premiere is expected to feature Salman's trademark interactions with the contestants, along with introductions to the new house and the twists planned for the season.
Bigg Boss 20 premieres on September 6
Bigg Boss 20 is scheduled to premiere on September 6, 2026. The season will stream on JioHotstar at 9 pm and air on Colors TV at 10:30 pm, according to reports.
The upcoming season has already generated considerable curiosity because of its new format, house design and a long list of names linked to the contestant lineup.
While several contestants have reportedly been finalised or approached, viewers will have to wait for the official premiere to see the complete confirmed lineup.
A new twist for the 20th season
The makers have reportedly introduced a theme centred around duality, with the season carrying the tagline “Tathastu-Two.”
Another reported addition is an “Extra Jeevan Daan” concept, which could give contestants another opportunity to remain in the game under certain circumstances. The house itself has also received a dramatic makeover, with reports highlighting two rooms, a shark-themed pool and other elaborate elements.
The house has reportedly been designed by Varsha Jain and spans around 10,000 square feet, with 104 cameras monitoring the contestants.
Contestant buzz adds to anticipation
Ahead of the premiere, several television personalities and public figures have been linked to the show. Names reportedly associated with the season include Mahhi Vij, Qazi Touqeer, Kushal Tanwar, Isha Rikhi, Arshifa Khan, Kanika Mann and Showik Chakraborty, among others.
However, reports surrounding the contestant lineup should be treated as speculation until the show's makers officially confirm the participants.
One confirmed participant already making headlines is Rhiya Ahir, whose participation has attracted attention because of her previous involvement in a student protest movement.
Salman back at the centre of Bigg Boss
For the show's massive fan base, however, the biggest attraction remains Salman Khan.
Over the years, his weekend appearances, contestant confrontations, advice and trademark one-liners have become an integral part of the Bigg Boss viewing experience. His return for the 20th season is therefore expected to play a major role in generating the show's opening-week buzz.
With the premiere shoot now underway, fans are only days away from seeing Salman return to the iconic Bigg Boss stage.
Bigg Boss 20 premieres on September 6 — and Salman Khan is ready to bring his trademark swag back to prime time.
