‘I Also Believe Amit Shah Should Resign’: CJP's Abhijeet Dipke Backs Rahul Gandhi Over Police Action on Protesters

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has intensified its criticism of the Centre over the police action against protesters, with party leader Abhijeet Dipke backing Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's demand for accountability and stating that Union Home Minister Amit Shah should resign.

Speaking to reporters, Dipke alleged that the police response to the recent demonstrations reflected a failure to protect citizens' democratic right to peaceful protest.

"I also believe Amit Shah should resign," Dipke said, echoing Rahul Gandhi's remarks while accusing the Union government of allowing excessive police action against demonstrators.

The CJP leader claimed that the government's handling of the protests had raised serious questions about civil liberties and freedom of expression. He argued that citizens participating in peaceful demonstrations should not be subjected to what he described as disproportionate police action.

Rahul Gandhi had earlier criticised the Centre over the treatment of protesters, alleging that the government's response was inconsistent with democratic values. His remarks triggered a fresh political debate, with opposition parties demanding greater accountability from the Union government.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has rejected the opposition's allegations, maintaining that law enforcement agencies acted in accordance with the law to maintain public order. The party has argued that security measures were necessary in view of the prevailing law-and-order situation and has accused opposition leaders of politicising the issue.

The latest remarks by Dipke add to a series of statements from opposition parties questioning the government's handling of the protests. The issue has become a key point of political confrontation, with both sides offering sharply contrasting accounts of the events.
