FIR registered over assault on two RAF personnel during CJP protests, say Delhi Police

Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) over the alleged assault on two Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel during the recent Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) protests in the national capital.

The case is part of the ongoing investigation into incidents of violence reported during the 'Chalo Sansad' demonstrations, which witnessed clashes between protesters and security personnel near Parliament and other parts of central Delhi.

FIR lodged after alleged assault

According to Delhi Police, the FIR pertains to the alleged attack on two RAF personnel who were deployed as part of the security arrangements during the protest.

Officials said the injured personnel received medical attention, and the incident has been included in the broader investigation into the violence that erupted during the demonstrations.

Police have not disclosed the identities of those allegedly involved, stating that efforts are underway to identify the accused through video footage and other evidence.

Investigation underway

Authorities said investigators are examining CCTV footage, videos circulating on social media and other digital evidence to establish the sequence of events.

The latest FIR adds to several cases already registered in connection with the protests, including allegations of rioting, obstruction of public servants and damage to public property.
