India Examining Implications of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia-Türkiye Defence Pact, Says MEA

New Delhi: India on Monday said it is closely examining the implications of the emerging defence cooperation framework involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasising that New Delhi is carefully monitoring developments that could impact regional security.

Responding to media queries, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India is aware of reports regarding the proposed defence arrangement and is assessing its possible implications for regional peace and stability.

"We are examining the implications of these developments," the spokesperson said, adding that India remains committed to safeguarding its national security interests while promoting peace and stability in the region.

The comments come amid reports of enhanced defence cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, including discussions on strategic collaboration, defence technology and military engagement. While details of the proposed framework are still emerging, the development has attracted attention across the region.

The MEA reiterated that India closely follows geopolitical developments in its neighbourhood and beyond, particularly those that could have implications for regional security and strategic balance.

India has consistently maintained that its foreign policy is guided by the principles of strategic autonomy, peaceful coexistence and constructive engagement with all countries.
