Samantha Ruth Prabhu's comeback vehicle Maa Inti Bangaaram is enjoying a dream run at the box office, with the film crossing the ₹41 crore mark worldwide within its first three days of release and emerging as the actress' biggest solo-led commercial success.
Directed by Nandini Reddy, the action-family drama has shown strong momentum since its release, benefiting from positive word-of-mouth and strong occupancy figures across Telugu-speaking markets. According to trade estimates, the film collected ₹10.10 crore net in India on its third day, registering around 32% growth over its Day 2 earnings.
The film's three-day India net collection now stands at ₹23.10 crore, while its India gross has reached ₹26.69 crore. Overseas markets have also contributed significantly, with the film accumulating approximately ₹15.10 crore abroad, taking its total worldwide gross to around ₹41.79 crore by the end of its opening weekend.
Samantha's biggest solo success
The strong performance is particularly significant for Samantha, as Maa Inti Bangaaram has already surpassed the pace of several of her previous female-centric films. Trade analysts believe the film is comfortably on course to overtake the lifetime collections of her earlier solo-led projects, including Oh! Baby, Yashoda and Shaakuntalam.
The film also marks Samantha's return to theatres after a nearly three-year gap, adding to the excitement among fans eager to see the actor headline a major commercial entertainer once again.
Telugu market drives collections
The Telugu version remains the film's primary revenue driver. Reports indicate that the Telugu version contributed nearly ₹9.5 crore of the Day 3 earnings, with occupancy levels touching around 60%, reflecting strong audience acceptance and family appeal.
Industry observers note that unlike many recent releases that opened strongly before witnessing a decline, Maa Inti Bangaaram has shown consistent day-on-day growth during its opening weekend, a sign of positive audience reception.
Strong outlook ahead
With favourable reviews, positive word-of-mouth and limited competition in its target markets, the film appears well-positioned to continue its successful run during the weekdays. Trade experts believe the movie could comfortably cross additional milestones if it maintains its current momentum.
For Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the film's success represents an important milestone, reaffirming her box-office pull as a solo lead and delivering one of the strongest openings of her career.
