Who Was Noah Woods, What Happened to Him? All About His Parents as Missing Suffolk Child Is Found Dead

The search for three-year-old Noah Woods in Suffolk, England, ended in tragedy after police recovered the body of a child from a nearby pond. Noah had disappeared from a playground in Brantham, near the Suffolk-Essex border, on Tuesday, September 15.

Suffolk Police said specialist teams recovered the body from Decoy Pond in Brantham on Wednesday, September 16. While the family of Noah Woods had been informed, police said formal identification had yet to take place at the time of their statement.

Who was Noah Woods?

Noah was a three-year-old boy from the Brantham area of Suffolk. Police said he was non-verbal, had partial hearing loss and was undergoing an assessment for autism.

At the time he disappeared, Noah was wearing a white Bluey T-shirt, shorts and black Vans trainers with a white stripe. Police later released CCTV footage showing his last known movements at Merriam Close playground.

Noah was visiting the Merriam Close playground in Brantham with a relative on the afternoon of September 15. According to Suffolk Police, the last confirmed CCTV sighting was at approximately 2:37pm, when he became separated from the relative.

He was subsequently reported to have run down an alleyway beside the playground towards a nearby new-build housing estate. A major search operation was launched soon afterwards.

Police, specialist search teams, dog units, helicopters and other emergency services were involved. Members of the public also joined the effort in large numbers, with more than 1,300 people reported to have supported the search.

Search teams examined the surrounding village, housing areas and waterways, while officers reviewed CCTV, doorbell-camera footage and other possible evidence.

On Wednesday afternoon, specialist teams searching Decoy Pond recovered the body of a child.

Superintendent Tom Pearse said the police had been overwhelmed by the public response and expressed sympathy for Noah's family. He also asked people to respect the family's need for privacy.

Suffolk Police initially said there was no indication of criminality in Noah's disappearance, while keeping an open mind about the circumstances.
