'India Can Stop the Ukraine War': Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Says PM Modi Is 'Among the Few Who Can Influence' Putin

India's role in global diplomacy received fresh recognition after Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is among the few world leaders capable of influencing Russian President Vladimir Putin and helping bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war.

The remarks come at a time when international efforts to secure a negotiated settlement to the conflict continue, with several countries encouraging greater diplomatic engagement.

'India Can Stop the Ukraine War'

Speaking about India's growing global influence, the Polish Deputy Foreign Minister said New Delhi occupies a unique position in international diplomacy.

He noted that Prime Minister Modi enjoys constructive relations with both Russia and Western nations, making India a credible voice in any peace initiative.

"India can stop the Ukraine war. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is among the few leaders who can influence President Vladimir Putin," the Polish minister said.

India's Balanced Diplomatic Approach

Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, India has maintained that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path towards peace.

New Delhi has consistently called for:

  • An immediate cessation of violence.

  • Respect for international law and the UN Charter.

  • Diplomatic negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

  • A peaceful resolution through dialogue.

India has also maintained communication with both Moscow and Kyiv throughout the conflict.

Modi's Engagement With Global Leaders

Prime Minister Modi has held multiple rounds of discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He has repeatedly emphasised that "this is not an era of war," a message that has received international attention and has been echoed in several global diplomatic forums.

India has also participated in various international discussions aimed at promoting peace and stability.

Poland Sees India as Key Partner

Poland has emerged as one of Ukraine's strongest European supporters during the conflict.

The Deputy Foreign Minister's remarks indicate Warsaw's recognition of India's growing diplomatic influence and its potential role in facilitating communication between key stakeholders.

The comments also reflect the strengthening strategic relationship between India and Poland across political and economic sectors.

Global Calls for Peace Continue

Despite several diplomatic initiatives, the Russia-Ukraine war continues to impact global food security, energy markets and international trade.

Many countries have urged influential global leaders to support renewed negotiations and confidence-building measures between the two sides.

India's balanced position has enabled it to maintain dialogue with multiple stakeholders throughout the conflict.

Looking Ahead

While no formal mediation role has been announced, international recognition of India's diplomatic standing continues to grow.

The Polish Deputy Foreign Minister's remarks highlight the expectation among some global partners that New Delhi could play an increasingly important role in future peace efforts surrounding the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
