Suvendu Adhikari's Declared Assets

According to the ADR analysis, Suvendu Adhikari has declared total assets worth ₹85.87 lakh.

His declared wealth consists of approximately ₹24.57 lakh in movable assets and ₹61.30 lakh in immovable assets.

Second-Lowest Among Chief Ministers

The analysis of self-sworn election affidavits of 31 chief ministers found Adhikari to be the second least wealthy.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ranked lowest, with declared assets of about ₹55.24 lakh. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma followed Adhikari, with declared assets of more than ₹1.03 crore.

India's Wealthiest Chief Ministers

At the other end of the list, Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar had the highest declared assets, valued at more than ₹1,413 crore.

The ADR analysis found that four of the 31 chief ministers had declared assets exceeding ₹100 crore. The average declared assets among the 31 chief ministers stood at approximately ₹118.07 crore.

What the Figures Represent

The figures are based on candidates' self-sworn election affidavits, rather than an independent valuation of their complete financial holdings. ADR says the affidavits obtained from the Election Commission website form the basis of its analysis.

Criminal Background Findings

The same ADR analysis also examined the criminal backgrounds declared by chief ministers. It found that 14 of the 31 chief ministers had declared criminal cases against themselves, while 11 had declared serious criminal charges.

Looking Ahead

The ADR findings provide a snapshot of the financial and criminal-background information declared by India's incumbent chief ministers in their election affidavits. The figures may be updated when fresh affidavits are filed in future elections.
