TVK-Led Alliance Gets Official Name

Tamil Nadu's ruling coalition led by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has officially received a new political identity — the Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance.

The announcement was made on September 9 following a coordination meeting of alliance partners at the TVK headquarters in Panaiyur, Chennai. TVK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is leading the newly named alliance.

The name places particular emphasis on secularism, social justice and victory, reflecting themes that TVK has highlighted as part of its political approach.

Congress Joins Vijay-Led Political Front

The alliance brings together TVK and several political parties, including the Congress, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president B Manickam Tagore, VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan, MDMK leader Vaiko and IUML leader K M Kader Mohideen were among the prominent leaders associated with the meeting.
