‘Here to Do Politics on Corpses’: Abhijeet Dipke Heckled by Group of Influencers in MP’s Balaghat

Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke was heckled by a group of people who appeared to be social media influencers or content creators during his visit to tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district on Saturday.

Dipke had travelled to Adori, Korka and Bondari villages to meet families of tribal children who allegedly died after infectious diseases and to gather information about healthcare facilities available in the region.

The incident was captured on video and subsequently circulated on social media, triggering a fresh political controversy around Dipke and the CJP.

Woman confronts Dipke over visit

According to the video cited by PTI, a woman identifying herself as an influencer approached Dipke as he was leaving the area in a car.

She was seen holding a microphone close to Dipke and questioning him about the purpose and timing of his visit.

The woman allegedly asked whether Dipke had come to “do politics on corpses” and questioned why he had arrived in the area so late.

Dipke was heard apologising for reaching the area late.

The woman also pointed towards the road and reportedly asked him whether he could see that a “good road” had been constructed there.

CJP workers take Dipke away

As the exchange became heated, workers accompanying Dipke reportedly put him into another vehicle and drove him away from the spot.

As the vehicle left, the woman was heard saying that Dipke had “run away”, according to the video report.

The confrontation has since become another flashpoint around Dipke, who has emerged as a prominent face of the youth-led Cockroach Janta Party movement in recent months.

Why was Dipke in Balaghat?

Dipke's visit came amid concerns over the deaths of more than 30 children in the region, according to reports.

He visited tribal families to understand the circumstances surrounding the deaths and to raise questions about healthcare infrastructure in remote areas.

The issue has also reached the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Earlier this week, the Jabalpur bench sought a response from the state government over the reported deaths.

The court issued notices to the state Health Department, Women and Child Development Department, the Balaghat collector and other authorities while hearing a public interest litigation.

The PIL alleged that children were not receiving adequate medical treatment and claimed that around 400 children were being treated at a hospital with a capacity of only 50 beds.

Questions over the influencers’ presence

The confrontation also raised questions among some local journalists about the presence of the group in the remote village.

According to the Tribune report, local journalists were surprised to see a group of social media influencers from outside the area arriving at the location and confronting Dipke. Some reportedly wondered whether the group had been sent by someone to disrupt the CJP founder's visit. There is no established evidence in the report confirming such an allegation.

Dipke has faced political controversies before

The Balaghat incident comes at a time when Dipke has increasingly found himself at the centre of political controversy.

Earlier this week, he visited the family of 25-year-old MPSC aspirant Prathamesh Deshmukh, who died by suicide in Pune. Dipke described the death as a “failure of the government” and linked it to financial pressure, examination delays and alleged irregularities in the competitive examination system.

He has also faced confrontation during protests before. In June, Dipke was slapped during a crowded protest in Jaipur. He subsequently said physical attacks were a sign of “fear and cowardice” and vowed to continue his movement peacefully.

The latest Balaghat episode is therefore likely to add to the debate over Dipke's increasingly visible political activism—and whether his interventions on deaths, examinations and governance are being viewed as activism, political mobilisation or both.
