‘Fight Against Casteist Mentality Will Be Waged With Full Force’: Congress Slams FIR Against Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: The Congress has strongly condemned the registration of an FIR against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, asserting that its fight against what it described as a “casteist mentality” would continue with full force.

Reacting to the development, Congress leaders alleged that attempts were being made to target Rahul Gandhi because of his repeated interventions on issues related to caste discrimination, social justice and representation.

The party maintained that legal action and political pressure would not deter it from raising questions concerning equality and the rights of marginalised communities.

Congress attacks FIR against Rahul Gandhi

The Congress described the FIR against Rahul Gandhi as politically motivated and accused its opponents of attempting to suppress voices that challenge social inequality.

Party leaders said Rahul Gandhi has consistently spoken about the need for greater representation and equal opportunities for disadvantaged sections of society.

The Congress argued that raising issues related to caste discrimination and social justice cannot be treated as an offence.

‘Fight will continue with full force’

Responding to the FIR, Congress leaders said the party would continue its ideological and political fight against caste-based discrimination.

The party stressed that its campaign for social justice would not be weakened by legal cases or political controversies.

Congress representatives said the struggle against discriminatory attitudes requires sustained public engagement and political action.

The remarks indicate that the party is likely to continue making caste and social justice issues a major part of its political campaign.

Rahul Gandhi's focus on caste issues

Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly raised issues related to caste inequality, representation and the demand for a nationwide caste census.

The Congress leader has argued that greater access to data is necessary to understand social and economic inequalities faced by different communities.

His remarks on caste and representation have become a significant part of the Congress party's broader political messaging.

The latest FIR has therefore triggered a fresh political confrontation over the debate surrounding caste, social justice and political representation.

Political row intensifies

The development is expected to intensify the ongoing confrontation between the Congress and its political rivals.

Congress leaders have alleged that opposition voices are increasingly being targeted through legal and administrative action.

Political opponents, however, may defend the FIR by arguing that legal procedures should be allowed to take their course.

The case is likely to generate further reactions as details of the allegations and legal proceedings emerge.

Social justice remains a key political issue

Caste and social justice continue to be major issues in Indian politics.

Questions surrounding reservation, representation, discrimination and access to opportunities frequently influence political debates across the country.

The Congress has increasingly sought to position itself as a party advocating for greater social and economic representation.

Rahul Gandhi has played a central role in this political campaign.

The party's response to the FIR suggests that it intends to frame the controversy within the larger debate over caste discrimination and social justice.

Congress vows to continue campaign

For now, the Congress has made it clear that the FIR will not alter its political position.

The party said it would continue to challenge what it considers discriminatory and casteist attitudes while advocating for equality and constitutional rights.

As the political row develops, the FIR against Rahul Gandhi is likely to remain a major point of contention between the Congress and its opponents.

The controversy once again highlights how questions of caste, representation, social justice and political accountability continue to shape India's national political discourse.
