Gold and Silver Rate Today: September 15, 2026
Gold and silver prices remained in focus on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as domestic precious-metal rates moved lower across several benchmarks and jewellery retailers.
According to the latest data, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Joyalukkas and Kalyan Jewellers reduced their 22K gold jewellery prices, while Tanishq increased its 22K rate. The India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) also reported declines in gold and silver rates.
Retail jewellery prices can vary between brands, cities and showrooms. Making charges, taxes and other applicable charges can also increase the final amount paid by customers.

Silver Rate Today: September 15, 2026
IBJA's indicative rate for 999-purity silver was Rs 2,27,650 per kg on the morning of September 15.
This was lower than the September 11 PM rate of Rs 2,28,920 per kg, representing a decline of Rs 1,270 per kg, or about 0.55%.
The official IBJA bullion report also recorded September 15 AM and PM rates for 999-purity silver at Rs 2,29,900 and Rs 2,28,920 per kg respectively.
Why Are Gold Prices Falling?
Gold prices have been under pressure from developments in global financial markets. Rising crude oil prices, higher bond yields, a stronger US dollar and expectations of tighter monetary policy have affected the precious-metal market.
The IBJA's September 15 report noted that gold had fallen as oil-supply disruptions in the Middle East strengthened expectations of Federal Reserve rate hikes. Higher interest rates can weigh on gold because the metal does not generate interest income.
Reuters also reported that spot gold declined on September 15 amid a stronger dollar, higher US Treasury yields and increased expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike.
Gold Outlook: What Should Buyers Watch?
Market participants are closely watching the Federal Reserve's policy decision and developments in crude oil prices.
Prithviraj Kothari, president of IBJA, said gold was holding support around $4,300 per ounce, while a sustained break below that level could open the way toward lower levels. He also identified resistance around $4,430-$4,500 per ounce.
For silver, he identified around $62.5 per ounce as an important support level and $67 as a near-term resistance level.
Gold Jewellery Price Is Higher Than the Gold Rate
Consumers should remember that the quoted gold rate is not necessarily the final jewellery price.
When purchasing jewellery, customers may have to pay making charges, GST and other applicable costs in addition to the underlying gold value. These charges can vary considerably between jewellery designs and retailers.
Therefore, buyers should compare the final invoice price rather than comparing only the per-gram gold rate.
