Gypsy Rose Blanchard Gives Heartbreaking First Reaction After Ken Urker’s Death: ‘Screamed Until My Throat Burns’

Louisiana, October 2, 2026: Gypsy Rose Blanchard has shared her first public reaction following the sudden death of Ken Urker, describing herself as being in disbelief and overwhelmed by grief.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Blanchard said she had been unable to process the loss of her partner and the father of their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker.

“I’m in disbelief. I can’t think. I’ve screamed until my throat burns,” Blanchard said.

Ken Urker found dead in Louisiana

Urker was found dead at a residence in Raceland, Louisiana, on October 1, which was his birthday. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the residence at around 6:15 p.m. and found him dead when they arrived.

Authorities have said that the investigation into his death is continuing.

Blanchard told PEOPLE that she believes Urker died following an overdose. However, she said she does not know what he took or whether the overdose was intentional.

“I don’t know if it was intentional or not,” she said, adding that Urker had not been in a good state of mind recently.

The reported overdose has not been presented as an official final determination by authorities. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Blanchard remembers Urker as a devoted father

In her statement, Blanchard remembered Urker as a loving father to their daughter, Aurora.

“Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved,” she said, describing him as her “soulmate” and referring to their connection as a “red string” that she said could not be erased by time, distance or death.

Blanchard and Urker had an on-and-off relationship over several years. They reconnected in 2024 and later welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker.

Gypsy Rose addresses online scrutiny

Blanchard also spoke about the intense public attention surrounding Urker and their relationship. She alleged that he had faced significant online harassment and cyberbullying.

She said she believed the pressure from online scrutiny had affected him and urged people to remember that there is a real person behind social-media posts and comments. These are Blanchard’s own claims about the impact of the scrutiny, rather than an official finding about the circumstances of Urker’s death.

Blanchard said she wants their daughter to grow up knowing her father for who he was rather than through online commentary.

The death investigation remains ongoing, and further official findings about the cause and circumstances of Urker’s death have not yet been released.
