NDA and INDIA Bloc MPs Face Off Outside Parliament Over Jharkhand Police Action, Ram Temple Donation Row

New Delhi: The political confrontation between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition INDIA bloc escalated on Monday as MPs from both alliances held rival demonstrations outside Parliament, clashing over the recent police action against student protesters in Jharkhand and allegations concerning Ram temple donations.

Members of the INDIA bloc gathered in the Parliament complex, demanding accountability over the police action during student protests in Jharkhand. Opposition MPs alleged that excessive force had been used against students and called for a detailed statement from the government on the incident.

The Opposition also raised allegations related to Ram temple donations, demanding transparency and seeking a discussion on the issue in Parliament. Leaders from the INDIA bloc accused the Centre of avoiding debate on matters of public concern.

In response, MPs from the NDA staged a counter-protest, accusing the Opposition of attempting to politicise sensitive issues and disrupt the functioning of Parliament. They defended the government's handling of law and order matters and rejected the allegations raised by the Opposition.

The competing demonstrations unfolded amid continued disruptions in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, where proceedings have repeatedly been adjourned over disagreements between the treasury benches and Opposition parties.

Government leaders have urged the Opposition to allow Parliament to function normally and participate in legislative business, while Opposition parties have insisted that discussions on the Jharkhand protests and other contentious issues should take precedence.

The Monsoon Session has witnessed several days of disruption over issues including student protests, police action and demands for greater accountability from the government. The latest face-off outside Parliament reflects the widening political divide between the two sides.

With neither the government nor the Opposition showing signs of backing down, the impasse is expected to continue unless a consensus is reached on the format of discussions inside Parliament.
