Lucknow: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has said his party will prove that it is more than merely a “vote-cutting” force in the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, signalling plans to expand its political presence in the country's most populous state.

Owaisi's remarks come as political parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the next Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, where electoral contests have traditionally been closely watched because of the state's political importance.

Owaisi targets 2027 UP polls

The AIMIM leader has rejected the perception that his party's primary impact is to divide votes and benefit other political parties.

Owaisi's statement indicates that the party intends to build a stronger organisational structure and contest elections with the objective of winning seats rather than simply influencing the outcome of contests between larger parties.
