Prakash Raj waves the Indian Constitution at CJP's 'Chalo Sansad' march in New Delhi | Watch

Actor Prakash Raj joined the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP)-organised 'Chalo Sansad' march in New Delhi, where he was seen raising a copy of the Indian Constitution while participating in the protest.

Videos and photographs from the demonstration, which have since gone viral on social media, show the actor walking alongside protesters and holding the Constitution aloft as a symbolic gesture in support of democratic values and the right to peaceful protest.

Constitution takes centre stage

Prakash Raj's participation quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the march, with supporters sharing clips of the actor carrying the Constitution and interacting with fellow demonstrators.

The gesture was widely interpreted as a call to uphold constitutional principles, including freedom of expression and the right to peaceful assembly.

Protest linked to Sonam Wangchuk

The 'Chalo Sansad' march was organised by CJP in solidarity with climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was shifted from his hunger strike at Jantar Mantar to a hospital after concerns over his health.

The incident has triggered protests across the national capital, with activists and opposition leaders questioning the manner in which Wangchuk was removed from the protest site.

Delhi Police, however, have maintained that the decision to shift Wangchuk was based on medical advice and taken to protect his health.

Heavy security in the capital

The protest witnessed a strong security presence, with police deploying barricades and personnel around Parliament and other sensitive locations to prevent demonstrators from reaching restricted areas.

Traffic diversions were imposed across parts of central Delhi as authorities sought to manage the gathering and maintain public order.

Video goes viral

Clips of Prakash Raj holding the Constitution during the march have attracted widespread attention online, with many praising the actor's participation while others debated the political significance of his presence.

The protest has added another chapter to the ongoing national debate surrounding Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike, the right to peaceful protest and the government's handling of the demonstrations.
