Rahul Gandhi Demands Government Response on Police Action, Ram Temple Donation Allegations, Seeks PM Modi's Apology

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday intensified his attack on the Centre, demanding answers on the alleged police action against student protesters, allegations surrounding Ram temple donations, and calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apologise over the issues raised by the Opposition.

Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Rahul Gandhi said the government could no longer avoid addressing matters that, according to him, are of significant public concern. He urged the Centre to provide clear explanations instead of allowing Parliament to remain disrupted.

Referring to the recent police action against student protesters, the Congress leader alleged that young demonstrators had faced excessive force and continued harassment. He said those responsible should be held accountable and reiterated that students have the democratic right to express their views peacefully.

Rahul Gandhi also raised allegations concerning Ram temple donations, demanding transparency and a comprehensive response from the government. He argued that the matter should be discussed in Parliament so that concerns raised by the Opposition could be addressed on record.

The Congress leader further criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the Prime Minister should apologise and respond directly to the issues being raised by the Opposition. He accused the government of avoiding accountability while Parliament remained embroiled in repeated disruptions.

The remarks come as both Houses of Parliament continue to witness frequent adjournments during the ongoing Monsoon Session. Opposition parties have been demanding detailed discussions on student protests, law and order, and other issues, while the government has urged members to allow normal legislative business to continue.

The BJP has dismissed the Congress' allegations, accusing the Opposition of attempting to politicise sensitive issues and obstruct parliamentary proceedings. Government leaders have maintained that discussions can take place within the framework of parliamentary rules and procedures.

The latest remarks from Rahul Gandhi are expected to further intensify the political confrontation between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition as the Monsoon Session progresses.
