Abhishek Banerjee Seeks Supreme Court Direction on Disqualification of 20 TMC MPs

New Delhi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has sought the intervention of the Supreme Court over the proposed or ongoing disqualification proceedings involving 20 TMC MPs, urging the apex court to issue appropriate directions on the matter.

The issue has emerged amid heightened political tensions between the TMC and the ruling establishment, with the party raising concerns over the treatment of its MPs and the functioning of Parliament.

Banerjee has argued that elected representatives cannot be subjected to arbitrary action and that any proceedings concerning their membership of Parliament must follow established constitutional and parliamentary procedures.
