Champat Rai Holds ‘Absolutely No Resentment’ Over Resignation, Says Ram Temple Trust Treasurer

Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has sought to dispel speculation over internal differences after its treasurer, Govind Dev Giri, said outgoing general secretary Champat Rai holds "absolutely no resentment" over his resignation.

Speaking amid widespread discussion surrounding the leadership change, Giri said Rai's decision should not be viewed as the result of any disagreement within the trust. Instead, he described the transition as a routine organisational process and praised Rai's contribution to the construction and management of the Ram Temple project.

"He has absolutely no resentment," Giri said, adding that Rai continues to enjoy the trust's respect and remains committed to the temple's larger mission.

Champat Rai has been one of the most prominent faces of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, overseeing several aspects of the Ram Temple's construction and frequently interacting with the media on matters related to the project.

His resignation had fuelled speculation over possible differences within the trust, prompting questions about the reasons behind the move. However, the trust has maintained that there is no internal conflict and that the transition is being carried out smoothly.

The Ayodhya Ram Temple remains one of India's most significant religious and cultural projects. Since the consecration ceremony of the temple, the trust has continued to oversee construction work, pilgrim management and the development of facilities for the growing number of devotees visiting Ayodhya.

Officials associated with the trust have reiterated that the temple's ongoing development and administrative functions will continue without disruption despite changes in office-bearers.
