Swara Bhasker opens up about failed IVF attempts before marrying Fahad Ahmad

Mumbai: Actor Swara Bhasker has shared a deeply personal account of her journey to motherhood, revealing that she had considered becoming a single mother through IVF before meeting and marrying politician Fahad Ahmad.

Swara made the revelation while speaking to fellow contestant Priyanka Chahar Choudhary on Rise & Fall Season 2. She said that at one point she had accepted that marriage might not happen for her, but she still strongly wanted to have a child and build a family. 

‘I had convinced my parents’

Recalling that phase of her life, Swara said she had discussed her plans with her parents and eventually convinced them to support her decision.

She explained that her parents were initially surprised but spoke to her about the challenges of raising a child as a single mother in India. According to Swara, they ultimately respected her decision.

The actor said she went ahead with IVF using an anonymous sperm-bank donor and underwent two rounds of treatment.

“I really wanted to have a child, like have a family. And, you know, I did two rounds of IVF. Anonymous sperm bank donors and hua nahi,” she said on the show. 

Both attempts were unsuccessful.

How Fahad Ahmad entered her life

Swara said her plans changed after she became romantically involved with Fahad Ahmad, whom she had known as a friend.

According to her account, the two had been friends for some time before beginning a relationship. She said they dated for around two to three months before she became pregnant.

The couple subsequently registered their marriage in 2023 and later held traditional wedding celebrations. They welcomed their daughter Raabiyaa in September 2023.

‘Two-three good news’ together

Reflecting on how quickly events unfolded, Swara described receiving several major pieces of personal news around the same period — her relationship with Fahad, pregnancy and marriage.

Her comments offer a glimpse into a period when she was trying to navigate motherhood on her own terms before her relationship with Fahad changed those plans.

Swara is currently participating in Season 2 of Rise & Fall, hosted by former cricketer Virender Sehwag. The actor has spoken openly on the reality show about different aspects of her personal life and experiences.
