Flowers, Surprises and a Proposal: Ketan Agarwal’s Last Gift to Fiancée Now Accused in His Murder

Pune: The tragic death of Pune-based businessman Ketan Agarwal has taken an even more heartbreaking turn as details emerge about the final days he spent planning surprises and romantic gestures for the woman now accused of murdering him.

According to investigators and family members, the 26-year-old real estate businessman was deeply committed to his relationship with fiancée Siya Goyal and was preparing for their wedding scheduled later this year. Friends and relatives say Ketan had planned flowers, gifts and special surprises for Siya, including a proposal-style celebration, unaware that police would later accuse her of plotting his death with another man.

The case has stunned Maharashtra after what was initially believed to be a trekking accident at Lohagad Fort near Pune was reclassified as a murder investigation. Police have arrested Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, claiming the duo conspired to push Ketan into a deep gorge during a trek on June 18.

Investigators allege that Ketan accompanied Siya to Lohagad Fort as part of her birthday celebrations. After the fall, authorities were initially told that the businessman had accidentally slipped while taking photographs. However, inconsistencies in statements, digital evidence and CCTV footage reportedly led police to suspect foul play.

The couple had become engaged earlier this year and were expected to marry in November. Reports indicate that both families had already made elaborate wedding arrangements, including booking a luxury venue in Rajasthan and preparing for a large-scale celebration.

Police allege that Siya maintained a relationship with Chaudhary and viewed the upcoming marriage as an obstacle. Investigators claim the pair planned the killing in advance and that multiple earlier attempts to harm Ketan had failed before the fatal incident at the fort.

Ketan's family has expressed disbelief over the allegations, describing him as a caring and trusting individual who was looking forward to his future with Siya. His father has publicly questioned why the marriage could not simply have been called off if she no longer wished to continue the relationship.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police examining digital communications, witness statements and forensic evidence to establish the full sequence of events. Both accused are currently in police custody as authorities continue to probe whether anyone else may have been involved in the alleged conspiracy.

The case has sparked widespread discussion on social media, where many users have expressed shock that a relationship headed toward marriage could end in such a violent and tragic manner.
