After years of delays and uncertainty, actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has finally seen Satluj—formerly titled Punjab 95—reach audiences in its complete form.

The film, based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, had remained caught in a prolonged certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Speaking about its eventual release, Diljit said preserving the film's integrity was always the priority.

"If even a single cut was made, the spirit of the film would have changed," Diljit said, expressing relief that audiences can now watch the story as it was originally intended.

Three-year battle ends with theatrical release

Satluj endured nearly three years of uncertainty after facing objections during the certification process.

The film, which chronicles Jaswant Singh Khalra's campaign to expose alleged human rights violations during Punjab's militancy years, became the subject of extensive discussions over its content before finally receiving clearance for release.

With the film now in theatres, the long-running dispute between the makers and the CBFC has effectively come to an end.
